Founded in 2012.

Our founder, Michael Slowey, moved from Ireland to Australia when he was 19. He started Custom Clad with the mission to elevate architectural excellence with innovative cladding solutions tailored to each project. Today, Custom Clad is proud to play a significant role in reshaping the skylines of Melbourne, Victoria, and Queensland, contributing to iconic landscapes.

With over 100 professionals, including in-house designers, estimators, project managers and on-site tradesmen, Custom Clad offers a streamlined cladding solution. This integrated approach ensures seamless project execution from initial design through to final installation, maintaining the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and safety throughout the process.

Sustainability Policy

Custom Clad is committed to sustainability, focusing on eco-friendly materials, energy efficiency, and reducing waste. Our use of CNC technology in our manufacturing facility allows for precise cutting and shaping of cladding materials, helping to minimise waste and conserve resources. By continuously innovating, we provide high-quality, sustainable solutions that support a greener future.

Victorian Social Procurement Framework

Custom Clad is committed to awarding 2.5% of our procurement budget to social enterprises, including disability enterprises and Indigenous businesses. We actively engage with these enterprises across a range of services

Building Equality Policy

Custom Clad embraces the Building Equality Policy, striving for gender diversity across all levels. Custom Clad surpasses gender diversity targets with 3.5% of women in trade roles and apprentices, 7.5% in non-trade roles, and 40% in management.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Participation

Custom Clad commits to 3% Indigenous participation in our workforce. We continuously strive to improve this engagement, ensuring meaningful opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals in our operations.

OHS&E Commitment

Custom Clad upholds the highest standards in occupational health, safety, and environmental practices through a comprehensive OHS&E management plan. We ensure compliance with regulations, prioritise employee training, and conduct thorough risk assessments. Our commitment includes providing advanced in-house safety equipment, such as CNC machines, lightweight frame machines, wall saw, and many more, to maintain a secure and sustainable workplace.

Victorian Industry Participation Policy Strategic Project

Custom Clad prioritises using local suppliers, with a minimum of 90% of its content sourced from within Australia. Our manufacturing is done at our facility in Victoria and Queensland, where we actively seek out local suppliers to ensure we contribute to the economic growth of the region and reduce our environmental footprint.

Major Projects Skills Guarantee

Custom Clad is dedicated to developing the future workforce through apprenticeships, traineeships, and cadetships. We maintain our 15% target of participation of trainees, cadets, and apprentices, providing opportunities across various skill sets.

Opportunities for Priority Job Seekers

Custom Clad is committed to providing opportunities for priority job seekers, including formerly disadvantaged Victorians with a 3% participation rate target (310 hours).

Opportunities for Victorians with Disability

Custom Clad recognises the importance of inclusive employment practices. We have reached our target of providing $80,000 worth of direct employment opportunities to Victorians with disabilities and continue to focus on creating accessible and inclusive work environments.
